alliantgroup is excited to announce sponsorship of the Houston Independent School District Elementary Science Teacher Award.

The award will shine a light on HISD elementary science teachers who are using innovative teaching methods to spark student interest in science.

Six finalists will be chosen from across each of HISD’s regions. Each finalist will win cash prizes for themselves and to spend on their classrooms. The grand prize winner will receive a personal cash prize of $3,500, plus $500 for their classroom. The other five finalists will each receive $1,250 for themselves and $500 to spend on their classrooms.

These deserving teachers will be recognized not only with cash awards, but also media profiles to highlight their inspiring work in the classroom.

The finalists will be chosen in February 2019, with the grand prize winner being announced in April. All the teachers will be recognized at the alliantgroup Elementary Science Teacher Award Luncheon on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

The alliantgroup Elementary Science Teacher Award was created to reward HISD teachers who are increasing student achievement and engagement through innovative lesson plans that emphasize both the important and fun aspects of science. The award is just one of many alliantgroup initiatives to promote the importance of STEM education.
