alliantgroup will be honoring local high school seniors who have chosen to pursue a degree in a STEM field at its “Generating STEM” luncheon, where students will receive the firm’s Greater Houston Area Scholarship Award.
The six seniors who won the scholarship will each be gifted $5,000 at the January 29 luncheon to go toward their college education. The event will be hosted by Fox26 Houston Meteorologist John Dawson and take place at alliantgroup’s Houston headquarters.
“These students are so incredibly impressive, not just in terms of their academic achievements, but also their general passion for STEM,” alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav said. “All of these students have shown an amazing dedication to STEM fields, which brings me so much hope for our country’s future.”
Each of the students, who all attend a high school in the Greater Houston Area, was required to write an essay to be considered for the scholarship that explained their passion for STEM and how it ties into both their education goals and how they feel they could make an impact in today’s economy.
“It was so great to see how many students applied for this scholarship. It ended up being such a great pool of applicants that we had to increase the number of scholarships we originally planned to award!” Jadav said. “I’m positive that each of these award winners will have an amazing career in whatever STEM field they choose. The possibilities for them are endless!”
alliantgroup’s STEM Scholarship program, which operates through the company’s Blue Heart Fund, gifted $240,000 in 2018 to students pursuing STEM college educations.
