As part of its youth and community investment initiative, last week alliantgroup volunteers took more than 80 underserved students from Highland Heights Elementary on a field trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
During the field trip, students were guided by alliantgroup volunteers to explore areas such as the museum’s renewable energy lab and the Morian Hall of Paleontology. The field trip is just the latest excursion in a growing list of community outreach initiatives sponsored by the Blue Heart Fund, alliantgroup’s nonprofit charity, designed to expose students to STEM education at an early age.
“STEM occupations offer some of the highest paying and most fulfilling career opportunities,” said alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav. “Unfortunately, not enough of our young people are pursuing STEM-careers. If this trend continues, it will have major consequences for our country down the line, affecting everything from our nation’s ability to remain competitive to the quality of life of future generations.”
