Former U.S. Congressman and alliantgroup Senior Vice President Rick Lazio was quoted in today’s edition of Politico Morning Tax. In the morning newsletter, Lazio offered his thoughts on the recent tax legislation brought forth by the House Ways and Means Committee and on any future tax legislative efforts taken up by Congress before the end of the year:
Rick Lazio of alliantgroup told Pro Tax that it was “likely that a smaller, less expensive package containing the retirement provisions and some modest Democrat priorities — probably energy extenders — end up being taken up and passed in a lame duck session. And those provisions that fall off the wagon will be on the list to be included by Republicans in their next tax reform effort. So what is contained in the package, regardless of its short term prospects, matters.”
