alliantgroup will be replaying its webinar on the landmark decision Avrahami v. Commissioner entitled “The World after Avrahami: The Future of Captives.” This is an opportunity for CPAs and financial advisors who were unable to attend the original webinar in August.

In August, Opinion in Avrahami v. Commissioner was released by the U.S. Tax Court. In the decision, the court found that the captive was not functioning as a legitimate insurance company. While the court’s ruling was very specific to the Avrahami case, the finding still has major ramifications for 831(b) microcaptives.

This webinar will count for one hour of CPE credit. Steven Miller, former IRS Acting Commissioner, and John Dies, alliantgroup Managing Director of Tax Controversy, will discuss during the presentation how the court’s findings will influence the captive industry as a whole. They will also advise business owners, CPAs and financial advisors on the necessary precautions moving forward to ensure compliance with the ruling.

“When it comes to captives, Steven and John are unrivaled experts, and people are eager to hear their insights on this notable Tax Court decision,” said alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav.
