alliantgroup’s Dean Zerbe Quoted in Accounting Today

Dean Zerbe, alliantgroup’s National Managing Director and the former Senior Counsel to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, was quoted in Accounting Today in a story on what tax practitioners should anticipate with tax season now in full swing.

In Roger Russell’s piece “Making the best of busy season” Zerbe comments on the potential impact the new Congress and the administration will have on broader tax policy. In the article, Zerbe notes how there were no major changes during the last congressional session and that any tax reform efforts that could impact practitioners wouldn’t happen until after tax season:

“Everyone should step back and be happy we don’t have any last-minute changes in the tax law,” said Dean Zerbe, national managing director for alliantgroup and former senior counsel to the Senate Finance Committee. “At least this year we don’t have to understand what Congress did at midnight before the end of the year.”

Don’t be distracted by the questions most clients will have as a result of the election, he advised: “We’ll see the outlines of tax reform by the end of spring, but it’s not anything to be concerned about right now.”
